What is a Mystery Shopper ?
Mystery shopper is someone who visit local retail establishment such as health stores, food stores, electronic stores and much more. As a mystery shopper, you will be directed to the store personnel and make comments or opinions on their products and services by filling a report.
The reason behind the existence of mystery shopping companies is to obtain customers feedback on their employees, products and services. This is to ensure the quality and performance of their company will always be in top condition.
How do Mystery Shopping make you money ?
Mystery shopping companies will pay you to shop, cut your hair, watch movies, eat at restaurants, take a trip, take part in focus groups or anything that involved in customers service. Mystery shoppers can earn anywhere from $10 to $40 per hour depending on the job.
There is also a focus group where you get paid to sit down and discuss new products or services with other people who are also getting paid . There is no need to leave home as many focus groups are actually held online.
Tips as a Mystery Shopper
- Build up your reputation as a mystery shopper by writing a good report. Always remember to answer all questions and use correct grammar.
- Make sure you accept all assignments wheter it is a high or low quality assignments. In order to get top assignments, you must first prove your you are a reliable mystery shopper by making a good job on the lower quality assignments and getting your report on time.
- If you have accepted an assignment but then are unable to complete it due to some personal problems, just make sure you inform the mystery shopping company immediately so alternative arrangements can be made to avoid letting down their client.
- Be careful not to fall for scams. All legitimate mystery shopping companies should not charge you to become their mystery shopper. Why would someone charge you to work for them ?
- Getting certified as a mystery shopper will boost your credibility. Many mystery shopping companies seek out certified mystery shoppers as it proves that you take your job seriously.
